The Heart 2 Hands is an Organization where we seek out children/ teens affected from homelessness, poverty, and/or abuse. And our mission is to help them by giving them a creative outlet through literature and poetry. In hopes of helping them through there word's they will be able to find their 'Voice'.
I know the feelings of heart ache, abandonment, and uncertainty all to well.
The statistics are alarmingly high. You will find out these statistics throughout this site.
I know that Personally through the art of poetry not only is it therapy to dig deep into your heart and bring your issues out into the open and onto the paper (Hence: Heart 2 Hands ), its therapeutic as well.
Have you ever read a poem where you have felt the writers passion, anger, love. and/or maybe even felt/thought "me to" Have you ever had a or a book that you have felt that it was speaking to you? Or even inspired you?. Help us help these children to create a healthy creative outlet. Lets help them find there 'Voice'. Let's give them the hope they deserve. Because they are not any different than you or me.
This Organization will be successful in opening the community's heart and through our unstoppable passion to help these children succeed we can re-light their candle of hope, and that one day they to can grow up with out falling into the statistics of getting arrested, teen pregnancy, or even suicide. They also have the right to become the doctor, fireman, or president when they grow up instead of being forgotten.
To open them up and give them the strength and knowledge of their feelings and words will not only bring about understanding, acceptance, and guidance. But, will instill in them Courage, and their 'voice' and it will bring about some of the most intriguing pieces of works ever.
We need the help of everyone, anyone who has the heart. It takes a community to raise a child! I we are all the community!! Let's help to turn the alarmingly rising rate of children ending up in the penile system, pregnant,or worse dead. Buy giving them a healthy creative outlet. Help us help them.
